I've only made one quilt so far and am working on another for my daughter, but my son wants one and I can't find a design that doesn't look too "girly" for him. Can anyone please give me some more ideas to see if he would approve of any of them. Thanks so much.

I'm thinking about a puzzle quilt with manly colors, of course, for my 11 yo grandson.

You can enlarge the quilt by making more blocks, or by adding borders. You could make the blocks larger, but that a lot of work! :) Welcome to the board!

what pattern did he pick. Maybe it wouldn't be too hard to enlarge.

You could always make it bigger.

I am attaching a copy of the baseball quilt I made from a pattern in Thimbleberry called Bedtime Story. You could actually use any pieced block pattern and just fussy cut the center motif, with something for a little boy. I made this baseball quilt for my 9 year old nephew.

This is the quilt I made for grandson Ben who will be 10 this year. Block is very simple, 4 1/2 strips of a light and a dark to make the simple pinwheel blocks, trimed the pinwheels to 8". For the darks I used many different "boy" type fabrics, sports, pretzels, candy, etc. He loves it. You can make as many blocks as you like to make a larger quilts.

I also made several girlie quilts in the same pattern but with more girlie fabrics. I've also made a smaller block for baby quilts. May in Jersey
