I liked the hair clips until I bought the Cover binding clips. No comparison. The Clover clips win! I can sew on a binding without the clips but it's easier to have the binding in place and not rolled up in my lap or all under and over the quilt. The neck roller thing is a PITA.

i have to agree with Dunster- i've never used pins- i just fold & hold as i go- works great for me & much faster than dealing with pins, clips or any other -gadget- my fingers do just fine....$18 for clips seems like a huge expense- 2 yards of fabric! i hope they work well for you since you took that plunge.

This is what I do. Tried pins once but they just got in my way and not to mention the pricks that came with it. I find it easier to go without any aid in holding the binding down.

Almost bought them but could not spend the $ for them.Stick with my hair clips when I can find them. And hardly ever use those also.

I use them and love them, i think they are much better thanthe silver clips, you can sew right up to them..well worth the money to me

i generally don't use anything either - 'cept when sewing around the corners. I do pin those so that i can get a good miter. If I have a really long side, I'll pin in the middle or in the 4ths so that i don't get wonky

I have sewn on the binding just as happyquiltmom does with only 3 or 4 pins, even doing it this way still manage to pik myself occasionally. I use the hair clips for other things, I have the quilt clips too, but favor the hair clips as they lay flatter and are not as heavy. Sometimes with the clips the binding slips and then I have to rip out the binding in the slipped area. No fun getting picked by pins I know.

I have the binding clips and they are great. I have used them on the last two quilts and they made a wonderful difference.
