Don't people like this ruin places for others. We have one in a group I sometimes go who knows everything about everything and gets things wrong but cannot be put down. Some go other,aces and leave the group because of one.

Isn't it wonderful to keep up the tradition, hand quilting is piecing is a gift that many of us just don't have the patience for but can fully appreciate! My grandmother did everything by hand also, they were so beautiful on her beds. We now use them as decorative room additions and tuck them away as treasures.

We had a woman who left the Amish speak at our guild about Amish quilts. She told us that the 'humility' block is just a myth that got started somewhere. She said the Amish would NEVER be so conceited as to think they are more perfect than God and that they have to build a mistake into a quilt!! Plus, if you build in something that is wrong for the design, it's not a mistake, it's a design decision.
