Been looking into getting a new sewing machine. Narrowed it down to three. Can't decide which one to pick:

Brother LS-2125 ($75.54)
Brother XL-2600i ($86.54)
Brother Limited Projecty Runwau Edition ($135)

I almost want to go for the cheapest, but it had the lowest ratings out of the three (4 star...which I guess isn't too terrible). But the one with the highest ratings is over $100.

Wondering if anyone has bought any of these models and how they fare.

I have the Brother 350E, but the one I wanted was the project runway $135, my husband is the one that decided on the 350E, he knew better than I did that I would enjoy the embroidery part of it lol

I have the LS 2125 and it's a great little machine.

I only have two complaints - it doesn't have a whole lot of bells and whistles (Santa is bringing me a new machine because of that ;) ), and it is loud.

It can sometimes have a bit of trouble getting over a bunch of seams, but usually only needs a bit of encouragement.

Once I got to know it better, I learned its cues...meaning, eventually, I understood that when it made this noise, I needed to clean it, if it did that thing, I needed to change the needle or re-thread, etc.

It is very easy to use - straight forward and simple. It works, and I've never had any major problems in the three years I've had it.

I can piece with no problems, and have done some simple quilting. I bought a universal walking foot and it works like a charm. For the money, and what it offers, it is an excellent machine.

I have the Brother 2600XL. It works fine. I have a universal walking foot and FMQ foot. My only complaint is the throat space is small and that can be tough to quilt large things. Tough but not impossible. I can manage straight stitching on larger things. FMQ doesn't work well for me on big projects. I end up with too much stuff crammed in the throat.

For most things, I'd say it is a good machine for the money.

Yes, the throat space is small on the LS2125 too. I haven't tried my hand at FMQ yet, though.

I love my Brother cs6000i. Got it at Walmart online. It was a little more than the three you choose but it's got a lot of little extras. Shipping was free.

I have a Brother CE4000 that I bought almost new off Craigslist for $50. Get the best machine you can afford, won't be sorry. Brother's are good machines. Dollar for dollar I prefer Brothers over White, Singer, Kenmore, etc.
I prefer Janome over Brother but the price range is higher.

Crap. I didn't even think about the throat size. I was just trying to find something within my price range with good ratings (going off of walmart.com) that would do the basics and had a drop in bobbin (once had a machine with the bobbin that loaded in the side and I hardly used it because I could never get the bobbin to load right even when I was going through the manual).
