Id' tell them also because the LQS owner can then call the company and check her bolt and possibly get it replaced or a refund, too.

I think the quilt shop would appreciate knowing about the flaw. They should make it good for you and they would probably check the bolt and take it up with the mfg. If you don't let them know, they can't fix a problem they don't know about!

I SO agree with this comment! I have seen stores come and go by word of mouth in the sewing, quilting community where I live.

I would tell them also. I'm sure they don't want to go out of business as much as you don't want them to - probably more.

As a former qs owner I would definately want to know if someone bought fabric from my shop that was flawed. As a customer you really owe it to yourself and other customers to bring the matter to her attention. All of the shops that I now shop at would appreciate knowing about the problem so they can check the remaining bolt for problems.

I agree with Woody's comment 100%

Quote: I would bring it to their attention, in a nice way. If I was the owner, I would want to know about things like this so I can make sure that the staff understand that it isn't acceptable. If poor storage in the store caused it, you would look at ways to fix it, or if it came from the manufacturer like this, then the store owner would want to take it up with them.
Good to see you Eddie, I've missed seeing your beautiful work.

You would be doing them a great disservice if you failed to make them aware of a situation that will cost them customers. If its an honest mistake, its one thing but if it is carelessness on someone part, then it is quality control and should be addressed immediately. Should it be an attempt to dupe the customer they need to know that the attempt was not successful.

I would ask to have it replaced. No question, and no gnashing of teeth.

Tell the owner or manager. I am an employee in a quilt shop and NEVER want to give a customer a bad product. As quilt shops our major asset and draw is CUSTOMER SERVICE. Give them a chance to make it right. Just my opinion.

Absolutely tell them. You need to get a replacement and the owner needs to know about the quality of this piece.
