I do not know what your judges will look at, but I helped judge a state fair and they counted off if those v's were not stitched down they liked to see (or not see if you know what I mean) at least 2 stitches there front and back, and on both sides of the corners (front and back) of square quilts

It's a beautiful quilt and the scallop border is unique. As for the binding, that is something that judges especially look at, so I would make sure it was tacked down properly in the "V's". I think appliqued flowers would make a great addition to the quilt, making it extra special. Good luck, I'm sure it will win a ribbon.

I don't know about the judging, but I think the blind stitch on the front and back of the Vs is a good idea.

It would be easier to judge about the flower with a longer view. I like the way the flower looks now -- it doesn't seem like overkill; but I wonder if adding vine and leaves would make it a little cluttered. I agree that the quilt as is without the added flowers is also beautiful. Lovely work!

    Maybe reread the category rules.

You did a great job and it looks beautiful! I applaud you for entering a quilt in a judged show. I'm trying to work up the nerve--not there yet!

I like the idea applique (and especially love the scalloped edges) but maybe a smaller, more stylized flower if you add vines, etc.

I recently bought an instructional dvd on curved binding, done by Sharon Schamber, and she says to stitch down those seams on the "V"'s, just as you would a miter on a square corner. From the photo you gave, I like the flower in the corner a lot. Very pretty quilt! Good luck at the show.
