I used to have a friend and we would get together to sew and chat. Since she passed, I tend to stay ay home and sew alone. I get a lot done - usually and I enjoy the "me" time. My husband retired a few years ago and he is usually hanging around - wanting to go to the beach, go for a drive, do that, do this. My sewing room is on the second floor of our house and that is my getaway zone. Unless he decides to come up there and see what I'm doing. LOL. I do have quilting/sewing/crafting friends but have found I prefer to visit and exchange ideas with them and do my sewing at home.

I guess I like a bit of both options. Sewing by yourself does lead to more productivity, but the group support & interaction is stimulating. A well run class is wonderful, but I've been to many that are poorly organized & frustrating. So, I go with what's available & what I need at the time, & ,of course, the Quilting Board is a quilting group in pajamas-the best!

I have noone around that quilts (that I am aware of). Since I moved here almost 10 years ago, I quilt alone.

I love to quilt by myself. I guess this is just my "me" time and I find it very relaxing.

I get a lot more done when I'm by myself, plus I don't have to drag everything to wherever the meeting is. I'm not really a "social" gal.

I like working alone. Groups are nice for talking about patterns etc, but when quilting would rather go solo,

I love them both. I find that I am motivated working with others - but I get my serious work done alone. Of course, alone is a relative term. My DH usually has opinions and comments, my cat always has opinions, comments and demands.

I find that after I've been in a chatty noisy fun group of quilters I'm charged up and can't wait to get down to serious sewing when I get home!

I love quilting with friends and have 2 groups I quilt with regularly. I don't always get a lot done but I don't care because I enjoy the social aspect of the get-togethers. I have made several new friends through these groups.
