Me too! It's a way of dealing with an imperfect world. There's a sense of order in quilting that is soothing.

All my quilts are meant to be used. No show quilts here. And I do it because it relaxes me and makes me happy.

I won Viewer's Choice one year at a quilt show! That was so thrilling because the quilt did not have perfect piecing, a few gathers in the backing and the binding was not straight. Other quilts in the show were stitched to perfection. I almost didn't enter it but thought I'd like know I had a quilt in a show one time and I was very happy to see it hung in the back out clear view! LOL

Sometimes they're made as a gift with someone specific in mind. Most are made just because I like the fabric or pattern. Then there are scrap quilts that are made just to see what I can do with the leftovers. I haven't even considered entering anything in a quilt show.

I've started quilting because I find it incredibly relaxing. It also gives me something I can do when sitting with the family watching TV, which bores me to tears.

I expect they will ultimately get used, though I have one finished with no home and a second ready for quilting with no planned home. Need to find good homes for them.

I make quilts for someone to use. They are not to just put away. I also make quilts to see if I can really make one like that, it's a challenge.

Same here. I have some hanging on the wall, some on beds, and some as gifts
