Retirement is so wonderful!! The only way I can remember what day of the week it is is whether it is a big paper day or a little paper day! I worked all afternoon and finished my first triple Irish chain quilt top! Yea!

It's sunny here today. First I am going to go spend some time starting to clean my deck. When I get tired of that, or it gets too hot, I will come inside and begin tieing a quilt top. It is already and ready to go.

It's going to rain today, so I took out my new Accuquilt "GO" and just started cutting rectangles and squares. In 2 hours I had the cutting and sewing done for a table runner. Now need to quilt it after I rest, of course.

Here I am retired and do less quilting than I did when I worked 40 hour weeks. Then, I would schedule in some "me" time. Now, I take for granted that it is all "me" time and am lax about doing it. Today, however, I am working on some I spy blocks for my quilt group comfort quilts.

I am trying to figure out how to get some PUL to stick to batting for a Beach Quilt I promised I'd make my DD. So far I've tried spray basting and now 50/50 water/glue crossing my fingers. When researching the PUL it said that needle holes really show so I don't want to pin baste it, but I need something so I can SID on my DSM. I finished the lined beach tote that matches it already it's going to be cute if I can ever get it to baste together ARG

I agree with GailG - since I retired 4 years ago - I wonder when I will really feel like I am retired. It seems something comes up all the time. Both my husband & I have different commitments with volunteering, etc. but after this year - we are going to use the word "No thank you" once in a while. Grandkids have events that we want to take in and "have" to take them in. We are also getting ready for an auction to get rid of 49 years of "stuff" (aka junk). We live on a farm so have sheds to clean out, a big attic - you get the picture. It will be work and whatever we have left after auctioneer commission, advertising, etc. is strictly"fun" money for us. It will be such a good feeling when it is done - and I hope our kids appreciate it someday!
