I have a white cutting mat made by Uchida that I've been using for 15 years. I'm sensitive to the smell of the colored mats that you can get at Joann's. It thicker and stiffer than the ones you can roll up.

The only mat I've wished I never purchased is June Taylor mat and ironing pad. The mat just separated the cutting mat from the ironing pad. I have other mats which I love for different reasons.
