I was told to buy the cheapest, lowest quality paper for printing my patterns, (think dollar store notebook paper) and it would be easier to remove. It worked.

I've done quite a few small pp ing quilts & projects and have used the spritzing method and works good...definitely use tiny stitching and also i like the suggestion of wrinkling the quilt to help remove the pieces......i've made several ice cone quilts for charity and also a baby gift......i sit in my kitchen and peel away and sweep the floor when done.

Thanks for your idea.....madamekelly......will use some next time i do pp ing......i buy the dollar tree computer stationery all the time for a buck.....where is the central willamette valley? I live near salem.......

I spritz mine with a little water, wet paper is much easier to remove

I do it while watching TV. My best way is to fold and score the seam line I am planning to rip with my fingernail, then hold the side that stays firmly while tearing the paper. I generally don't sweat the small bits either. However, I have tweezers sitting by for the niggling bits that are too big to leave and too difficult to grab.

I fold the paper along the sewing line and then I just peel it, it comes out in strips quite easily

I've torn out stitches by being too aggressive with the paper in the tiny spaces. Next time I'm just going to leave them in!

I usually spritz the seam with water and rub an eraser over it

if you Google No Tear Paper piecing, there is a video ( I thought I saved) but for some reason I can't find it and remember trying to link it up but I've tried this and it is so easy. No tear stitches out.http://ri.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0LE...c8j.0osG95uCo- See if this works.
