repurposing fabrics, do you do it?

When I decided to retire, I started pulling all my cute scrub tops and pants that I will not be giving to Goodwill since they are worn thin in places. I have been cutting them into strips and squares to put in projects as they come along. I have already used some strips in a log cabin and squares in a charm quilt. Gotta smile when I see them.

I find fabric at Goodwill, thrift shops, antique, and consignment stores. I mostly look for fabric and haven't thought about sheets except for a queen flat I bought still in the package for $2. Good luck on your job, sounds like lots of fun to play with sewing machines and get paid.

WOW ! What is lefse? It is a norwegian 'goodie'. It is rolled out like pie crust only thinner. You butter it and put white or brown sugar on it, roll it up and eat! Some also use it when eating lutefisk. Don't suppose you have heard of that either. It is fish. You put a lefse on a plate, put mashed potatoes on top of that, then the lutefisk and cover that with melted butter. Some say they then roll it up to eat but I can't imagine how they would do that!
I like the lefse - not the lutefisk.
Our church is sponsoring a lutefisk supper Oct 20th. Meatballs are also served at these suppers as not everyone likes lutefisk. $15 for a ticket for the meal. The desserts are a variety of norweigian pastries,

We made 80 dozen lefse on Sept 24th about 30 of us - I worked from 8 am and got home at 5 pm.
I like the lefse - not the lutefisk.
