Lisa_wanna_b_quilter - Thanks for making a note of that for me. I am not familiar with the area but I'm sure the other ladies that live closer will probably know more about it. I will print this out before we go, for sure! Thanks...wish you were going with us.

farscapegal - You must live close to Mary Jo's. Boy, I wish I did. Enjoy your trip to LA.

amma - I will try to remember to take my camera. I love meeting fellow sewers. You know you'll enjoy each others company because you already have something in common, lol!

crkathleen - Yep, that would be quite the drive for you. I will check out all the pretty fabric for you!
I live near Greenville SC so it is about an hour and 45 minute drive for me and thanks, I always enjoy my trip to LA.

Have fun at Mary Jo's.

I was staying in Greenville, SC when I was in the US. My husband(at that time) at a business trip with the Michelin plant there. I met up with a fellow online quilter and we drove to Gastonia to Mary Jos for the day.... I almost hyperventilated when I walked through the doors!!! I didn't know where to start!!! LOL

btw, Greenville is a really nice place. I fell in love with the Carolinas when we drove there from Nova Scotia.

My brother works at the Michelin plant in Greenville. I have lived in SC for most of my life and I love it.

So wish it were a different Saturday so I could go with you!!! But Veterans Day Parade takes the precedent this year! Maybe another time when the weather is good?

Jacksonville isn't far from you but 4 hours there and 4 hours back is intimidating!
Bad back that I have.

Hugs,
Sharon

LOL! You know...that's probably what will happen to me..the hyperventilating part. Wish all you girls could go. I am so looking forward to it. My machine got sick but I picked it up from the shop yesterday...thank goodness it wasn't anything major, so I'm ready to get some beautiful fabric to keep me busy through the winter, lol!

It is my dream to go there............ My best friend and quilter and I had planned a road trip there this summer but had to cancel at the last moment. We'll get there yet! Have ordered a multitude of fabric  from there already .......... As already mentioned, they are great on the phone. BTW, there is a thread place close to them. Hav also ordered from them with great results. You guys have fun! That place sounds like a candy store.

I had forgotten about the thread place that was close by. Can you refresh my memory? As I remember, it's not very far either.

Also, I wanted to bump this up and see if there may be anyone else in my area that would like to ride with me. I'm going two weeks from tomorrow, which is Saturday, November 7th.

When I called Mary Jo's to place an order, the csr who helped me kindly gave me the name. Sadly, I don't remember but am sure they can help. The quality and prices were excellent. If I ever have an opportunity to get to Gastonia, I will definitely find the thread store too. Lucky you :) .
