I seem to recall Martelli taking them back but that may only be Martelli blades.

I keep old ones in tuna fish can, when full I put in zip lock and duck tape the heck out of it before throwing away. I write "shape blades" with a marker on the outside.

My friends church women take them and cut their community quilts with these donations. The ones they work with are so normally so dull they are glad to get others toss outs.

That doesn't make sense to me. There are too many great sales online for new blades to have to use a dull cast offs. Using a dull blade is dangerous. It tears the fabric causing mis cuts and takes double the time and effort to get anything cut at all. Connecting Threads just had a 60% off sale on Olfa blades.
