Seems like a real bad deal with this woman (not a lady). There is a place for folks like her and negative things will be coming her way. Hold you head up high and put out the word on her so no one else gets burned. I'll be praying you get the parts you need & can figure things out so you get your quilts made and can give them to the people intended as recipients. Live & learn is my motto. God bless you and he'll take care of you if you'll reach out to him. Hold onto the positive & not the negative. We have a tight knit group on here, so you have folks watching your back & you can pass you experience through all this on to others who get in a similar situation. Sheila Elaine

Mary, please as it was suggested and call the company. 99% of the time the company, and it has an excellent reputation, will bend the rules a bit for a customer that was taken to cleaners and her shoes stolen at the same time. You got taken by a very nasty person who realized that you were not capable of making a scene and being even more demanding. I think this is hateful thing to do to anyone. And I am angry with you and for you. But go with the company first and do not be afraid to tell them of your personal condition of health and the stress of being quite afraid of the ramifications of this woman. The worse that can happen is they so no and I would find it hard to believe. But I have confidence that there would a lot of quilters in the classified section that may be able to help ease some of the discomfort if you can get no help. Most people do have to pay in cash, even though I try to get a money order. But I have asked for a signed receipt of which I had written up. No signature, no money, no deal.

Most valuable lesson I learned in college was if it didn't happen in writing, it didn't happen. I'm disabled & long story short, there were some folks in the upper admin section had figured out how to funnel money from the Disabilities Scholarships money into other accounts, so the sidewalks weren't cut properly so folks in wheelchair could access the Disabilities Coordinators Office, or other pertinent offices & classrooms, as well as a string of other violations. I wrote a thesis after being clued that this was going on & it rattled a few cages, but end result was those folks were made to look awful lame & uncaring. The things that were supposed to get done did get done once it was turned over to the Dept of Education, Office of Civil Rights in Atlanta. Lots of practices stopped immediately & lots were implanted to see that the wrong had been righted. I don't back down from a fight, esp where there are so many injustices to those of us who deserve an equal share of help such as tutors and translators so we could be successful in passing our courses.

I feared for my safety during this time, but I didn't let the bad folks see it. Stick to your guns. You are learning the ropes of illegal business practices. Good luck in winning your cause.

Calling the company is great advice. also, send in a note to your local newspaper and advise quilters to advoid a certain store in a certain location. Don't mention the name but folkes will get the general idea. I did it once on our sound-off column and the owners knew who I ment.
