with sashing looks good and you will be surprised at what a little creative quilting with a colored thread will do for the challenge fabric.

I like it without the sashing. It lets the design morph into more than one design. With the sashing in place, it really defines the blocks as one pattern.

I like it with the sashing. I agree, while it may be a difficult fabric to work with, I would not call it ugly. At least, not now that you have pieced it into a lovely top! I like the way you cut it up in small pieces - that was good thinking! :P
