I am making 6.5" blocks for a sampler quilt. Some of the blocks are coming out smaller. If I add sashing and a cornerstone to two sides of the blocks and then square them all up to the same size will there be any chance I could get the sashing lined up well enough? Or is there any other way to fix this?

How much smaller? I just finished a Storm at Sea that has so much "fudging"(long story) that I'm a bit embarassed--but as long as the seams how you can do a little fudging on those 1/4" seams. Or if they are really short, you could "frame" the too small blocks with a color that blends.

If you're cutting your sashing down, then it won't match going across or down the quilt. Uneven sashing is fairly noticeable, unless it's so uneven that it looks intentional. The best thing would be to figure out why your blocks are coming out too small. Usually it's because your seam allowance is a little too big.

I would try to find why they are coming out small or too big. With those you've done sashing all round trying not to loose points would make it easier to get them all the same size.by sashing I'm talking about a narrow strip around the block to make it up to size NOT the sashing that joins blocks together.

I did a sampler and the height, for some reason, on several of the blocks came out up to 1/4" too short. I ended up having enough of those that I was able to put them in one row. No one knows the difference.

Yes, how much smaller? If not too bad, and you're not a perfectionist, you can trim a little here, stretch a little there, and, in the end, it will all quilt out.

You can always set them on point by sewing an oversize half triangle on each side. That is what I did when I got various size of blocks from the block exchanges from the guild I use to belong to until I moved.

They range in size from 6" to 6.5". They are suppose to be 6.5". One of them is paper pieced and I have now idea how you follow exactly along the lines and it comes out too small. If I sew a small sash around it then the seam of that sash will be where I need to sew the next seam. Maybe at the end I'll just have to make two quilts.

about your paper piecing being off--sometimes when you run something off on a printer (either to print or to copy) it will do some resizing automatically to fit the paper and existing margins,etc. Often with templates there will be a marking that gives the exact measurement so you can check what actually printed. Maybe this is what happened?

if that's not it and there's a whole 1/2" difference, then it's likely that the seam widths are off and you probably need to deal with that. sorry you are having this difficulty--think most of us have been there.
