What is with turquiose? I have red paint purchased for my dining room, but now want to change it to aqua. Now is the time to do make the change if I still feel this way in a few weeks, not after it's painted.

I think our color choices do change over time. I have a lot of muted colors (mostly blues and greens) in my stash from the past, but now I'm drawn to brighter, less grayed colors. I make quilts according to the recipient's taste though. I think manufacturers do have an influence as well as our moods/tastes changing over time.

Don't think there is a season for brights but that is what I tend to buy. The color itself doesn't seem to matter: red, orange, pink, purple, blue, etc...

Green has fascinated me more than any other color, not sure why. Especially the warm greens.

I also gravitate toward certain fabric artists. I have a strong emotional response to Jennifer Paganelli and Denyse Schmidt fabrics. I think they both evoke happy childhood memories for me -- the Paganelli because it recalls favorite book illustrations, and the Denise Schmidt because her fabrics look very 50s to me, and I love anything that evokes that time period (having grown up then). But I also have a strong response to the deep, rich colors of Civil War prints, although I often think that quilts made with them are a little too subdued for my taste. But the fabrics individually are so fascinating.

My blue season started in 1954 and is still going.

I also like earth tones very much.

I'll go with that, Tartan. I had some pine cone fabric that had some nice warm browns but it was . . . pine cones. I used it in a log cabin jacket I made and it was great. You only really saw the color and not the weird pine cones.

I have tons of greens, but lately I've been very drawn to turquoise so those boxes will probably be filling up next.

I wonder if I will change with time. For 7 years, I gravitate toward Fall and Christmas fabrics.

I gravitate toward clear colors, not those muddied with brown or black......my color choices have not changed through the years with two exceptions.....can now understand the beauty in black and can use red if it's an orange/red and in SMALL quantities!.....the colors I gravitate to are not generated by the season or what's popular at the moment.....will never ever make a quilt with orange or purple........funny, my stash tells me I lean more toward greens although I wasn't aware of it.....on occasion I lean toward neutrals for their gentleness and calming effect

Always on the warm side of color wheel, the other side would be the plaid side since I seem to be making lots of plaid quilts right now since the stash is huge.
