That is a very large room. I envy you! I don't think you will have any difficulty in making separate areas for both of you. I would suggest that you plan the actual sewing machine and tv to be at opposite ends and your cutting tables (quiet activity) to be in the middle. For the first time EVER, I have a dedicated craft area. It is 10' x 24' and I find I have plenty of room for sewing, crafting, storage and this corner has my computer. One 18' section of wall is floor to ceiling shelving and the opposite wall is all tables (it also is full windows on that wall). One of my tables folds open for when I need to sandwich a quilt. Can't wait to see what ideas you come up with.

That's great! I wish I had room for all my sewing stuff.

Lucky you, enjoy the planning, the construction, and the finished room.

Make sure you have all the outlets installed you will need. I hope to find a different house with an area just for me.
Good luck!

Oh boy, if I had that much room I would be buying more fabric!

988 Square feet is a substantial amount of space. Congrats.

congrats btw

Separate rooms for each function would be my preference. Issues of brightness vs dimness, clutteryness ("junk everywhere), noisiness vs peaceful solitude, etc could make you wish you had kept your sewing space in a closet.

Make sure that you plan for lots of electrical outlets and good lighting.
