Yeah, you think you can surely do the last few inches, surely there is enough thread for that - NOPE!

Frustration, thy name is empty bobbin!

Been there - done that, many, many times. I try to fill an extra bobbin or two when I start a project, but invariably I will be stitching right along, just have a short bit to go and either the top thread or the bobbin thread run out. Have you noticed that the bobbin thread will end when you have two inches or less to sew for a particular project? We all do it.

I have done this so many times and its so frustrating. I recently purchased an older Pfaff which has a bobbin reminder when low and its wonderful.
At least I know I'm not alone.

What I hate is sewing LOOOOOOONG strips and running out of bobbin within a foot of the end....and not having another bobbin ready. Yes, I should plan ahead but we all know how THAT goes some days!

Hate it when that happens! Never run out when there is more than half of the project to sew, always with the end in sight.

Wish my machine told me when the bobbin was close to empty.

Been there....done that....got that TShirt!!! Now I'm so gun-shy that I check the bobbin constantly. And usually refill before I really have to. Waste of some thread, but oh well..........

I use pre wound bobbins now. My Plus 1 had a buzzer, but I can sew for a long time before before my Diamond lets me know. :hunf:

Yes I do it all the time. And, I've sewn a lot more than four strips before noticing.
