Default Should I Quilt this Pouch?

When making a small pouch like this would you quilt it first? It is made with foam on the outside pieces. The pouch is 9 inches X 6 inches finished. I have never used foam (Pellon fusible, one-sided foam) and am not sure if the material will lift from the foam or not. Thanks so much.

    Guess the question is ...
Is the pellon fusible foam intended as a permanent fuse?
    Or temporary?

I believe it is considered permanent.
Thus, quilting would not be a pre-requisite, but rather a design choice!

Just checked out the Pellon site ....
Is this the product you are using?

I would quilt it just for my piece of mind that it wouldn't come un-fused after a lot of washings and also because it takes very little time to quilt a small bag and adds a lot of texture that I like.

Is the foam sandwiched between 2 layers of fabric? If so you could quilt it. If it doesn’t have fabric on both sides, I would try a scrap first to see if stitching through the foam cuts it. Cute kitty pouch!

if it is small it probably will be fine. it's sewn in on all sides and not that large. A large tote, i might quilt before assembling.

I usually quilt mine before assembly. However, now that it’s complete, I wouldn’t worry about it. Cute pouch and I think I have some of that fabric too.

I usually quilt my totes or purses before assembling the project but yours is a smaller size and may be fine.

I would quilt it before making the bag when it is simpler to handle to fabrics.
