You asked if you "could" sash, not if you "should" sash. Of course you can. It's your quilt. You can do what ever you want. I don't think the quilt was designed to be sashed, but you can do what ever you want.

I would go with the red border around it. More borders if you need it to be larger. I would not sash between the blocks. Just my opinion, your quilt your way.

You might lose the way they are tumbling with sashing. Just my opinion.

cut a couple of strips for sashing and place it on your design wall, your eyes will tell you if you like it with or without.

Love these blocks and am not a fan of sashing, but I agree that you should do whatever pleases YOU. I have this template and have never made one of these, so thanks for sharing the picture. This is going to be so very cute no matter how you chose to finish it!
