If the quilt was hanging in a show I would be very annoyed if I was told. I put the quilt in the show believing it to be accurate. Being told in the show you can do nothing about it and feel I right fool and embarrassed for not seeing the mistake yourself.
can you guess this happened to me. I couldn't get out of the show quick enough.

only tell if its the stage before sandwiching after that keep stum.

If the quilt js finished...heck no! Why would you point out a mistake. Frankly, in my world, and mind, enjoy the quilt and don't deflate the creator of the quilt. Mean-spirited, IMHO. FRANKLY, I DIN't spend time critiquing others' work.

I agree with only mentioning it if it's effects the design (not blunted points) and for the record if anybody ever sees anything I should know I WANT TO KNOW, and if I already know it I'll politely say so, otherwise, thanks for the help.

I would definitely point out a misplaced block that can be turned around. I wouldn't comment on cut off points, crooked seams etc. Individuals have different standards- what's good enough to one person is sloppy to another. No one wants to feel as if their work is being inspected.

I think telling someone about a possible "oops" is in the same category as telling someone if he/she has spinach in his/her teeth - (as compared to telling the person that "you have crooked teeth')

If something can be done about it - possibly mention it - if not - keep the comments to oneself

If I see what I think is a mistake I ask if that is part of the pattern or design. Anyone that gets offended because of their mistake, I probably won't look at their quilts again anyway.

It would depend how far along the quilt project is, and how noticeable the mistake is .

I made a Thimbleberries fall quilt over 10 years ago, and proudly display it on my sofa each year. Last year I saw a mistake I had made in turning a maple leaf the wrong direction. I think I'm the only one who knows.
