Hubby and Friends are usually out by the creek playing horse shoes so I would have plenty of assistance getting it in and out. I shared the idea with him this past weekend and I think (fingers crossed) that one of my friends is working to find one for me :)

I go up about every other weekend, and they are used to me sitting at the picnic tables cutting pieces.

I love your idea of sewing outside.

That is a super idea! Wouldn't it be so peaceful to sew on a quiet machine and listen to the birds sing. Makes me want a treadle after all these years for I would sew out on the patio where there are always so many pretty birds.

Sounds lovely to me - is that why so many of the old treadles were left outside?

Sounds like a fun idea. I ran a sewing machine up in the haymow when I was just a kid. Enjoyed it immensely even though it was a hot place to sew.

Decide where you want to put her and use a moving dolly as someone suggested. I have my Singer treadle in my sewing room and she weighs a ton. You'll want a solid surface for her to sit on and give her a coat of sewing machine oil to keep off rust.

    A treadle or a hand-crank would be perfect...sounds like a very achievable dream...happy quilting.
