what would be a good price to pay for a black 221 singer featherweight in good shape, I would appreciate comments on this as i'm thinking on buying one.Miss Zip and Rip

Up to $300...with the economy the way it is tho, the prices have been dropping...
Watch ebay...it's a good indicator.

I paid around $150 for mine with a bobbin case and no extras, not even a carrying case. I found it in a flea market. It was the only one I have found except for ebay, and I have looked in a gazillion garage sales, estate sales, flea markets for a few years (and I'm not exaggerating, haha) and I was thrilled to get this one. My husband just paid $250 for mine, with case and a few uncatalogued "extras". He's a keeper - and so's the FW.

I had been looking on craigslist for awhile and came accross mine about a month ago for $175. case and extras but it smelled of mildew...which I got out with dryer sheets and fabreeze

you can get them almost any time at shopgoodwill.com for around 180. it would have to be in excellent condition before i would pay over 200 right now they are going for cheaper
