A great alternative that really does work well is the "Glad Press N Seal" you get where you buy your aluminum foil in the grocery store. I found it in the back of my pantry and had forgotten it was even there, had just read about the film stuff and figured I'd give it a shot and wowzers it worked!

I have found the BEST gripper around. Use it to keep my straightedges from sliding when I am cutting glass. I have a narrow edge on each of my rulers and it is fabulous. Now have it on all my quilt rules.
Called "Wedgietape" by The Emerald Rainbow. You can Google it and it is very inexpensive, 24" to a package and it cuts to size and sticks forever!

HI Bela Boo
I love the Alto quilt cut .
They are wonderful. Never need all the rulers with that. I have way more rullers in cost than the cost of the Alto.
If I'd had it a long time ago I'd not had all the rulers but I do use when not at home (the Rulers)
It is a great system, and Carol has a wonderful vidio to explain all the cutting on it.
