Ditto, sandpaper dots work great and they already have the sticky adhesive on them so all you do is peel and stick.

I agree. The film is usless. Sandpaperdots is still the most reliable

Little rubbery circles on the backs of my rules work, They are clear and bought in quilt shops. Some use little circles of sandpaper.

Recently I picked up some clear gel dots and some sandpaper dots at JoAnn's both by Dritz. I tried the clear ones first as it allows seeing the fabric since it is clear. They have worked well for me, haven't tried the sandpaper dots yet.

Hi! Here is the lip edge ruler I have and love it. Found another that is wider, twice the size of the one in the link. I've never needed a wider ruler, I use the lines on my cutting mat and the ruler as a straight edge for the rotary cutter. If you interested in the wider ruler, you can find it at www.olipfa.com
Here's link for the ruler like the one I have:

I use fabric grippers by Dritz. They work great.
