I have the Janome 6600P and it is a wonderful machine. She will be thrilled, but make sure she takes the classes, there is a lot to learn with this machine

You did good. I have that machine and really love it. It is easy to use. Very user friendly and a dream to sew on.

You made a great choice. The 6600 is a great machine -- a couple of my friends have it and love it. Your wife should love it -- once she gets over the shock.

Thanks for all the replies, you guys are very reassuring. I grew up in a family of DIYers. Both of my Grandmothers quilted and crocheted. My mother made her own clothes and crochets and my father can fix about anything. I have been into wood and metal working myself and can sew just well enough to fix a few things. Growing up this way I understand the value of tools and understand function and precision has to be paid for. I think this will be a memorable Christmas for her. Now I just have to figure out how to build a sewing cabinet without her knowing. I really like your forum and it was a true blessing in learning about sewing machines.

Wow and you're going to build her a cabinet for it too I'm very impressed.

Why do you call yourself nothing. I'd say you're "pretty special"
