I think you made a good decision. I have the Viking 870. I am happy with it but I have had a series of problems - most of which have been resolved. After doing a little more research, if I had it to do over I would buy the Janome 6600.

What a great husband you are to put such thought and planning into the purchase of a new sewing machine for your wife!! I've heard nothing but praise for that machine so I'm sure she will be so happy with it.

You sound like my husband...he will buy the "better" one because it's "better" in the long run...me, I'll buy the one to "get by with" until it's dead.

Your wife is very lucky and I'm sure she'll love it. Both of you need to take classes on it so you can help her out in a pinch.

And you're going to make her a cabinet too? Wow! May I clone you, please? I would so love to be there when your wife unwraps everything. Can you maybe take photos and post them here after Christmas? That would be awesome! Please do!

Boy, "nothing", you are really something! What a wonderful husband you are. I do not have a machine like this, but hear it is a great machine.
