For beginners I would stick with quick quilts from McCalls and Easy Quilts from Fons and Porter. Also Quilts and More. I'm somewhat a beginner plus I just prefer simple easy projects and to me, these have the simplest.

I like Fabric Trends too. Thanks for reminding me.

My Secret Pal just sent me Quilter's Home. I enjoyed it because it was more than one pattern after another. There's a great featured on vintage crocheted pieces, etc. So I would look for that again.

I'm a newbie, so I like "Quick Quilts" and I try to buy "Easy Quilts" whenever I see it. I've even bought some copies on Ebay!

Quilters newsletter...I've been a subscriber for many years, not so much for patterns but for lots of good info!

I have three favorites, and here they are in order.

1. Quilting Arts - for inspiration
2. American Quilter - ditto
3. Quilters Newsletter - habit (30+ years of them - might need to cull, don't ya think?)

Go to your local library. Ours has quilting magazines available.

I do enjoy the Quick Quilts.

I also enjoyed Quilter's Home when Mark was writing for them...
but have since did not renew.

I, at present, have a few other subscriptions, but do not plan on renewing too many as they run their course...I haven't really found many patterns that say "DO ME, DO ME".

There seems to be a whole lot more ads (which I understand are necessary) and not as many different patterns......they seem to be repeats with little changes.

Just my thought on the subject !!!!!
