Solids
#12
I was telling my husband how helpful everyone on this board has been. When I mentioned the solids question I asked, he said,"Go to the website with the best price and buy one of each color--my treat"! What a guy!
I got 28 (count 'em, 28) different colors at $2.99 per yard from Marshall's Dry Goods. Can't wait for them to arrive!
...and,no, ladies, I won't trade him!

I can understand that. I tend to use them as accents. I have a weakness for very busy prints--the solids tone them down a bit. When I look at my GGM's quilts, I suspect she had the same idea. Her quilts were mostly cut from clothing, but I think she must have sewed and worn pretty loud dresses!
My GM's are pretty sedate, so I'm guessing that in her the gene was recessive.

I knew better than to do that! He loves that I enjoy making quilts, but doesn't really understand the vastness of the selection of fabrics out there. I didn't want to exploit his generousity!
