I had that kind of morning on Monday of this week. That project is now hiding in the closet.

I will not slap, but I will come over with some of my grand disasters and show them off for you! Then, you'll feel a lot better about your little mistakes! :)

Don't feel bad. It took me almost two hours folding a yard and a half of fabric in half so I could get ready to rotary cut it. First time I tried the selvage wasn't lined up in the middle so the fold wasn't straight when I ironed it. Had to open up and iron out the fold. Pinned the selvages together, but the fabric was twisted up. Finally got it right the third time. Went to go cut off a clean edge and my ruler slipped. Had to recut. Just not my day for fabric prep.

Resewed first one ... wonky. Rip.

Second one. Sewed it wonky, took it apart, and in the process flipped it around so that I had the seam on the right side of the fabric. Wouldn't have been so bad if I had noticed it BEFORE I trimmed it and sewed on the last strip.

Third seam ... I've managed to sew the tip of the other end of the strip under the seam!!!

So, what do you think I could have possibly done wrong with the last seam? What other rookie mistake could I have made? Anyone want to guess?

I'll give you one hint ... it's a batik so there is no right side of the fabric.

LOL, sorry to laugh at you, but I spent the morning sewing and ripping, trying to make a baptismal blanket from some reclaimed eyelet. It's going to be two rounds of wide eyelet sewn with mitered corners. I screwed up the first piece and had to rip it out. Then pinned for a second try and discovered BEFORE STITCHING that I'd just done the same stupid thing. I wanted the first round to be sewn to the second round while leaving the scalloped edging visible. Why in the H it was so difficult for me to figure out is beyond me.

And what makes me really mad, is that I'd tried another pattern first and cut my strips to fit the first pattern, but it looked just like curtains. So I had to re-group and redesign. I've spend more than two days cutting, sewing, re-cutting, re-ripping......................

How do you make continuous bias? Don't you have to seam sometime or another.

Hey, we've all done something or other like that. Someone perfect would be real hard to live around, but my DH used to say he loved me anyway!!!

Once I was making a wedding present for a future DIL and her choice was a huge crazy quilt pillow with laces and velvets and brocades and suede. It was almost finished, I was hand sewing the last of the embroidery on a lovely piece of velvet when I had to get up for a moment, but the pillow top wouldn't let go of my pants leg!!! I'd sewed that thing firmly onto my pants. Had to remove pants to rip it out...DH sat there giggling at me...he had far more fun with that than I did!!! But new DIL loved it...loved it so much she kept it in the divorce.
