Sending my condolences.
I have alot of MIL's old quilts. She gave them to us long before she passed at 97 years young.
Sometimes I sit in my chair and wrap one around me to stay warm and theres an unusual 9 patch that I wonder about. It was made @ 1950's and I often wonder where she got the fabric. Was it from old clothes or did she buy the fabric.
All the batting has disintegrated.

In my cedar chest is DH's baby quilts. They are mainly pinkish color. I do remember her saying they used alot of pinks during that time which would of been during the war.

Sending prayers of comfort along. How nice that you and your sister could agree on the quilts. Enjoy the comfort in knowing they were enjoyed by you dear mom.
