I love the idea. Everyone loves to get some kind of prize, even if they have never heard of what the prize is. Just think, you might spark a love of quilting just by this one small thing. I applaud your idea and think you are wonderful for wanting to do this. And, what if, in a couple of years, you get all or some of the same girls, and you want to show them how's it done?

Great idea. Years down the road, I bet many will still have their cups and mug rugs.

Thank you all! I just talked to the Gma and she is going to supply the cups & saucers that she has rounded up from thrift stores and garage sales. So now my job is the mug rugs and fancy napkins. The tea party is going to be in a party room of the HOA where the DGG lives which is about a block from where they live. The girls are all dressing up and parading to the club house. I hope she sends me pictures. I am also going to send Mom & Gma their own mug rugs and napkins.

I'll bet you would get the biggest hug ever from your friends DGD and the little girls who receive the party favors will remember the party forever. You are one special lady.

Stupid idea? Heavens no! Sounds really cute. Another fun thing to do is make the girls (or boys for that matter) pillowcases. They always seem to be a hit at sleepovers. I know my grandkids love 'em, and they have them for every holiday. There's a really good and easy tutorial for a pillowcase at www.quiltedworks.com
