I would make two gender neutral quilts so you never have to "worry" which one get for which babe! Enjoy your Nana-hood!!

Then why not do the other the same?
... just switch the fabrics around in their placements.

A busy Mom of twins will appreciate not having the extra fuss of choosing
which babe to tuck the quilt around.

QuiltE's idea is a good one - make the same quilt twice, but with different fabric placements. An X's and O's quilt would work well, I think.

I've always thought these would be quick and fun quilts to make for siblings.

Another thought would be Rail Fence quilts,
with rows of fences alternated with blocks of your focus/sheep fabric.

Each quilt could have different rail fabrics for that unique look.

Besides, the rail fence just kind of fits for the sheep!

My money is on a boy and a girl. But one never knows. I'm reading my Dad's letters (in Germany just after the war) to my Mom back in the states carrying ME!!!. Dad thinks it is a boy and has named him Frankie. He has given Mom free rein on the girl's name except he does not like Sheila. I haven't got to the parts (some times 3 letters a day) where I am announced as a girl. So exciting.

I have IVF grand twins two and there are a marvelous addition to our family. Congratulations, Grandma! Now to your question. These two babies are two unique persons so you do not need to make the same quilt for each. You can have freedom to make same pattern/different colors or two completely different patterns. I know you have fabric picked out but consider non gender colors such as soft yellows, greens, salmon, turquoise and dare I say ...gray. I just purchased a layer cake from MSQC (Timeless Treasures, - Little Star) that features the most charming little bunnies getting sleepy under the stars. The colors are soft yellow, gray, white and too cute for words and on sale. Enjoy the wait, the anticipation and making special your special "grand lambs" quilts.

Default Falling Charms Quilt

I used this pattern for a quick baby quilt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KkpbFKBaKA&t=3s

It only took two days when I used a charm pack, and three days when I cut 5" squares from my stash.
