Default Suggestions for borders, please

Hi,
We are trying to finish up lap quilts for our almost-9 yr old twin nieces and would appreciate any suggestions. I will try to attach a photo, but my apologies if it doesn't work.

The blocks are 12" and I was thinking of a 1' inner border and a 6" outer border. I have no idea what color to use for the inner border. I haven't liked anything I've tried next to it and have no objectivity left.
Light? solid? print?

Thanks in advance for your input and for looking.

What is the outer border going to be made from? Is it the white that it's sitting on now? If so I'd use a darker version of either the purple or the pink.

Dark, either solid or stripe, if you can find a stripe in similar colors.

I would try for a dark purple solid or tone-on-tone.

Purple 1 1/2 border then a larger boder of the peace sign fabric if you have it. Cute quilt tops!

I agree with dark purple as well. I think if you go with a light inner border it will just disappear. If you don't have a solid, I would probably try for something with a small print that 'reads' solid.

I'm the odd ball here. I'd use a black w white for the stopper border. Then go back to one of the pinks. I know it sounds crazy, but it's amazing how all the other prints come to life when you add a piece of the unusual to it.

I like Tartan's idea....I would love that striped fabric as the inner border. And would love the peace sign for the outer border.

I see green in there. perhaps a thin inner border of the green would work. then what ever color you prefer.
