What an awesome little quilt. I love both the pattern and colors of fabric. Hope you post a picture of it when you get it finished.

You could add a border of dark print flying geese in dark browns or the cranberry color in the center diamond.

You could repeat some of the elements. For example, I might do another scrappy brown narrow border followed by a lighter square in a square. If that doesn't make it big enough, another dark border and a final border with applique.

I really like the crazy quilt blocks on the corners--what about putting another border on using a dark, tonal print, then add a last border all the way around using crazy quilt blocks for border?

I agree with Geri B that the final border would be great in a solid-reading dark colour from the quilt. But I'm not sure the blue would be the best choice. Which of the darker colours do you think would work the best? You can probably tell better looking at the actual quilt, than we can, looking at the photo. My best guess would be the burgundy, or brown.
