I hated pink and or blue till I started dyeing cotton. I can now appreciate a good blue and use pink for the grandaughter. Have a thought....we tend to dislike those colors that we don't look good wearing...any thoughts out there on that?

There isn't one particular color but I don't do bright garish colors well - I tend to softer side of things.

Pink is my absolute favorite color but I tend to avoid any shade of blue. What did you do with your pinks and purples?

There are colors I do not use on a regular basis but then I see a quilt here and know I am wrong again!! I just marvel at the talent and then the colors used and know I need to be more open to color choices...quilters on this board have opened my eyes to what is possible.

I can"t stand pea green.....I embroidered a beautiful quilt in green. When I put it on the bed I wanted to puke.. Took it off and it is hanging on a quilt rack...and probably will stay there. I have to much money in it to get rid of it.

Okay after reading this thread a couple of times I can not help but to want to go fabric shopping with several of you. So far we have folks that get angry when they see a certain color and folks the want to punch people in the mouth for another..........

Hell I would pay admission to see you guys all in the same fabric store! It would be like JoAnns Fight Club!!

My hated color is forest green. While in elementary school, I decided to use every crayon in the box to layer colors a paper Easter egg. The result was a dark green. I had a headache that day (the first of many migraines), and since then have associated that color with pain:)

I hate pink/purple to wear otherwise,I can use it for quilting or bags if they are leaving me. Green is my all time favorite.

I can not stand the color PEACH. When I owned a flower shop..it seemed that every wedding I did was peach. I don't own a piece of peach fabric...LOL

Some colors are for quilting - some colors are for clothing - some colors are for carpet and furniture - it just depends on what you are looking for.

Any shade of turquoise, from 50's aqua to teal. Hated it from the time I was a child.

I really don't care for the Olive tint of green especially the very dark. Will use if necessary, but leave it til the last.

I thought I didn't like orange, but I seen several quilts and bags and potholders etc.on here and I love them. and they were full of orange. so I guess I don't have a color I hate. Mary

This is really intriguing - any idea WHY someone hates/dislikes a particular color or color family?

Sometimes it seems to be an almost visceral reaction.

I don't like green color, I use it but very sparingly. I don't like orange equally. checked fabric makes my head hurt when I look at it. I'll take your pink :D
