Is there a quicker way than drawing a line from corner to corner?

Use a bit of tape to mark off the line on your machine. Then line up one corner under the needle and the other corner on the tape edge. That small of a square should be very easy to feed in straight.

I have tried all the methods mentioned here but found no matter where I sewed in relation to the line I couldn’t get consistent results. I recently invested in a corner clipper ruler and I am finally getting good corner triangles or half square triangles. I will never go back to drawing a line. There are several companies that sell these. Check them out.

You can fold them in half and sew on the fold

If you have your square lined up correctly on your rectangle, you can just line up the corner of the square with the center line and be good to go. Hope it works for you!

I have had a piece of graph paper taped to my machine bed to just what the link shows. My paper has been on the Pfaff for years and if it gets worn some-replace with another piece of paper. I use Scotch clear tape and this method works perfectly.

I use a tracing wheel, it makes little indents and I can see those. I don't use the tracing paper unless it is black fabric because for some reason I can't see the indents on black fabric.

A friend introduced me to Tiger tape and I love it, especially if you are workings on lots of HST. It is made by Old Made Quilts who makes lots of different types of tiger tape products the one for the Triangles saved me tons of time from drawing the lines.
