Thread Choices????

I was given some Essentials thread. I found it was not very strong for the high speed and needle deflection we see with our longarms.
So I used it for sewing patchwork on my Pfaff.
If I want cotton 50 weight for longarm quilting, I use Signature A&E and I buy it online from Kingsmen Quilting Supply. Their prices and service are wonderful.

I'm new here and so happy to see this thread. I've been working on my Connecting Threads order but haven't submitted it yet. I use a regular (cheap) sewing machine and piece quilt.
I've also wondered about their fabrics. Some are great prices, especially for backings. Any comments on their fabrics?
I'll be watching this thread about thread, lol.

BigDog.....I didn't mention in my earlier post that I had actually received my thread order....the colors are vibrant, but I haven't had a chance to use any yet. However, I had also ordered some 'closeout' fabric @ less than $3/yd to use as a border, and I think it's definitely a bargain: pretty and nice weight. Good luck with your order.

there are so many different threads on the market to try- i understand (sort of) the whole if it works...
but i also believe you should try new things when you have the opportunity-
long arm quilters are quilting wonderful quilts using all kinds of different threads- rayons, silks, cottons, blends-lots of choices-
when ever i have the opportunity to try a new thread i give it a try- if it works for me i make note what it is- where it came from- how much it cost- how much is on a cone ect...
the more choices you allow yourself- the further your quilting is going to go...be adventurous along with creative!

I ordered lots of Signature cones from an ebay store at $1 to $3 ea. My Lizzie does fine with it, but then I tried the new Superior Omni thread. Ohhh, (about $8 a cone). Will be changing over a couple of cones at a time.
