I was so excited about learning this, Cutebuns gives such clear directions and still I created ONE BIG FAT MESS! Would you all just look at this. Either my plates are too small (HA!), my triangular ruler is not true (HA!) or I really, really flubbed up! (duh). Look at that black one...what in the world is that?? I have no idea what I did or didn't do, but I am not giving up. Does anybody have an idea of what the hoot happened here? Please don't worry about hurting my feelings, I really want to learn this!

Hey I just noticed something...was I suppose to have 8 layers of fabric? That would be an octagon, not a hexagon!

Woe is me!

Looks like an Octogon to me. What degree is your ruler? They really are gorgeous so far.

Giggles, not that I'm an expert by any means, but I do have to wonder if your ruler is the wrong angle...that fabric is gorgeous and its going to be absolutely beautiful!

Does it need to be 60*? I thought that a triangle ruler would work? I think the 60* ruler looks sooooo complicated.

Since I am seeing that 4 pieces are making half of it I am guessing that itis the ruler for the octogon one. I am not sure what the angle is off hand. It is fixable especially if you have two more repeats or can get them. If you have either book. It will have the octogon in it.
