    Well, the cookies sound yummy. BUT how about sharing the beautiful chocolate bowl with berries (your avatar) and cream with all your friends on the board...I'll be waiting for mine in the mail...Looks delicious !! LOL

    Sorry Ladies, I haven't been following this thread, so missed out on the requests.

    Hope you enjoy these as much as I do ... yes, I enjoy them too much when I make them! :)

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Farmer's Daughter Chewy Oatmeal Cookies
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Cream together
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 cup soft butter

    Add and beat well
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg

    Sift together and add to creamed mixture
    1 cup all purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    Optional: cinnamon to taste

    Add and mix in
    2 cups quick cooking oats (I use large flake oats)
    Optional: Chopped pecans or walnuts and/or raisins
    Quantities as desired … the more the tastier!! J

    Drop from tablespoon onto parchment lined cookie sheets.
    Bake in preheated 375F oven for 8 to 10 minutes (more or less depending on cookie size). Store in airtight container to stay soft and chewy!
