What a great idea! I would love to have something from my great grandmothers.

On another note, my great great grandmother was a Leavitt.

I was in awe when my mother told me that she had at least 20 tops that had been left behind when my Grandmother passed.
Now almost twenty years later - each of my children and each of my siblings children have been the recipients of one of Great-Grandma Leavitt's wedding quilts. And it didn't end there. I have also been able to wrap some of my newborn grandchildren in one of these treasures. Yes - that means that 5 generations have felt her love!
Sadly, there are no more Great-Grandma Leavitt quilt tops left in the cupboard. But I have decided to start a new 'quilt top cupboard' of my own so my Great-Great-Grandchildren will be able to feel my love clear across the next 5 generations.
What a beautiful story! I just love the idea!

Wow, what a wonderful tradition. I would have cherished a quilt from my grandmother, if she quilted. Me and my mom is starting this tradition.

How nice! My grandmother did quilts for each of her grandchildren to be given to them at their weddings, also. Grandma passed away in 1966. I cherish my quilt. I think that is such a wonderful idea!

This is a great idea, thank you for the story. I have often wondered what I could leave behind that my grands would enjoy.

Christine, what a lovely legacy your grandmother left the members of your family! And, your family is doubly fortunate that you plan to continue the tradition.
