Do any of you who hand quilt use these needles? I first heard of them through an Amish quilt site.

Never heard of them. Sounds like a great idea if you were doing narrow rows. I'm going to watch this thread, thanks!

actually you thread just as many needles.. it's just that you don't have to turn the needle to go back up through the layers.

They are a design to make it faster when you use the technique where you have one hand on top and one hand under the frame/hoop. You just pass the needle from one hand to the other through the fabric sandwich.. it's amazing how much time you can save by not "turning" the needle. It also helps to make your stitches more even once you get the hang of it.
