I have 3 hidden UFO's tops that I will have Long arm quilted (when I have a good year in Real Estate and have extra $$$). I have 2 more UFO's tops that will be quilted in the next month or so. And one that I am top quilting myself this week. For me it is a matter of spending so much $$$ (and it is worth the $$$ spent to have it done) out of my budget. My goal is to begin practicing FMQ, so little time, so much to do.

I've been slogging through my ufo's for months. I don't really think I'll ever get them all done. Just when I think I'm making good progress, we start a new group project in my quilting group or someone in my family needs a new one or I have to repair one and on and on and on. In the meantime, everyone in my family has a quilt, some are on their second ones, and I STILL DON'T HAVE ONE for me or my home!!!

I have never counted all of my UFO's and I'm not sure I want to. Two years ago, as part of our Guild's 10th Anniversary, one member challenged us to finish all of them or at least one and show them at the June meeting. As I knew I had quite a few, I decided to get them gathered up and get started. Well, I completely filled two of the largest bins that Rubbermaid makes with completed tops and most of those were full sized quilts. I have dutifully completed one per month, have a stack of ten large finished quilts (I quilted them on my DM) and have given away a pile of others. I can now easily closed the lids on my bins but they are no way close to being empty. Then there are all my shoe boxes holding all or most of the completed blocks for a top that need sashing and borders to complete the flimsy. There are probably at least three dozen of those (the oldest one from 1976!) Then there are two more large bins of completed bocks and sets of blocks. How many UFO's??? Lots!!!

I have a lot of UFOs in various stages of progress. I seem to jump from 1 thing to another lately. I am finally getting back my urge to sew and hope to get some of these things finished in the coming months.

Oh my goodness, way to many to count. I finally organized by room and put each project in a box with labels on outside and promise to work them all in order using as many scraps as possible so that doesn't keep growing too. LOL

I had a Disappearing 9 Patch that had set for a couple of years because we had developed a strong hatred for each other. Since I had a retreat coming up I decided to take it and finish it once and for all. When I took it out at the retreat one of the other quilters said, "Oh, how pretty! I just LOVE that." I promptly answered her and said, "I don't so since you do it's now yours. Enjoy!" Then I crossed it off my 'to do' list and considered it finished.

I've got a running list of "open projects" ... periodically I go back and rewrite the list, prioritize what I want to accomplish based on upcoming events (holdiay, gift, etc.). Then there is the "project kit bin" that has probably a dozen differnt smallish projects in it for when I'm not sure what to work on next. I find too many UFOs stresses me out. I'm goal oriented.

I have several projects at various levels of completion. I too, get bored easily, and I do a lot of messing around. But on the upside I have completed quite a few this year, and started quite a few more as well. Its a cycle. As long as I'm not under pressure to get them done, who cares? I usually get the quilts done that I have in mind to give to someone. Whenever I see a technique that I have not tried, I have to do a sample, so lets say along with the several projects, I have several samples also. I make a list of the projects that I have finished, and so far in the last 3 years, I have done around 28. The list of UFO's is overwhelming, so I don't list them. I just have a lot of fun with quilting and I feel that I have learned a lot.
