This may seem like a dumb question, but is there a counter somewhere on all Bernina's or just select ones? I have a Bernina and know nothing of a counter. Help!!!

As a Bernina owner, I too would like to know if there is a counter on them somewhere and if so where? I have had my 930 over 30 years so I imagine there is a stitch or two on it.

The counter is in the new computerized machines the NEW 830 will even tell you how machine stitches you have done in ordinary sewing , how many with BSR, how many fancy stitchs , how many embroidery stitches you have done ... why because these machine sew so well they are brought my industries to do sewing , and then the warranty it not the same , Bernina know how many stitches a home sewer will do , but industary it is unbelieveable . And so good for keeping track on when your machine was last serviced .

My little Bernina sews so well that I forget she needs cleaning, etc.
Feed dog can wear down by sewing over pins ....not a good thing , but isnt it great they have parts for machines that are years old , they are wonderful to see on the inside if you ever get a chance , but dont ever take the casing off , ( that is what I have been told ) Cathy

Shequilts,

I assume that you will be getting monthly unannounced visits from the Home Health Machine Inspector. Now that you are on the straight and narrow path to caring for your little one, I'm sure you will be able to demonstrate that you are now a responsible mommy.

If such a disastrous incident were to be repeated, well, we might start to wonder if you suffer from Munchousin's Machine Syndrome By Proxy. . . .

I'm happy to report that my baby is now home. In fact, she's rather feisty since her return. She has a smile I haven't seen for a while and it makes me happy to hear her "run."
The bad news is; I've subsequently been named "worst mother of the year." It seems she was suffering from
"malnutrition" and "lint balls."
She was given a transfusion of lubricant and had some minor surgery to remove impacted fuzzies.

I've been placed on probation until I can demonstrate
proper care for my beloved, and I must read a chapter from the Bernina Owner's Manual everyday for a week.
I may be subjected to unannounced home visits for random inspections of my baby's care. Whew!
*****
Now in a serious vein: My poor Bernina merely needed cleaning and oil. I had not taken her for a tune up for two years. My lint removal evidently was not suffricient.
A most interesting fact is that I had sewn 4,475,487 stitches since her last tune up. I guess Bernina's really do last forever!
LOVE THE STORY YOU WERE TELLING..IT WAS GREAT..GLAD SHE IS HAPPY AND YOU ARE TOO. HAVE FUN.

I am happy your 'baby' has recovered. I have the 1008 and have never taken it in for a checkup. Of course, I did not use for over six years. I guess I should have it checked. Thanks for the update.

Having too much lint can cause your motor to seize up so it's very important to keep it clean & oiled!

We do not wish to hear that she has been abused. Of course think how happy she must of been that you and her have traveled all those stitches together. Truely you together must of made some wonderful music .

How do you know how many stitches you have sewn?
