I like the green and gold. Funny how our preferences are so different.

I know! That is why I love this board...love the variety, and also gives me ideas I probably never would have thought of!! I at 1st thought leave it with the plaid...then thought, "hey!...what about adding a little red border?"...Then thought of blue...and hubby then piped in with, "or you could use green..." lol...Only thing I am sure of (I think??...) is I will be using the yellowish orange for the binding...

I think the blue is a perfect match to the sashing. It is a darling pattern.....all boy!

Thanks, so thats 3 for red, 1 for green, 2 for blue, and 1 for leave it with the plaid only...I am leaning towards either blue, or leave it with plaid only...binding will be the yellow-orange...thanks again guys...
Now to decide how to quilt it...debated tying it, but know I really should quilt it...hmmm...

Now why don't I think of things like plaids? I am always afraid I can not get the lines running straight. I love the trucks on the white looking background and the plaid is the "pop" in the picture, thanks for telling and sharing this.

Thanks for your kind words! I was worried about the plaids being straight, too...but actually the fabric turned out to be fairly straight, and with some starching, it really was no issue. The other thing was, I measured out a distance that I wanted, and found out which lines I needed to cut to get the right width of sashing, did that the same for each piece of sashing. I then used the line closest to 1/4" for sewing the sashing and squares together...it worked out much better than actual measuring, and wasted very little fabric...it was well worth doing it that way to keep it straight!!

Nice job on the sashing! It adds alot to the quilt. Next time? Consider putting the plaid cornerstones on the bias, IMHO it would have added interest. I think it needs borders and will be one terrific quilt.

Hey! I made a purse out of that plaid. I love it and have had so many compliments. Makes a really cute quilt too!
