How much VAT(Value Added Tax) do you pay on your fabric. Here in Ireland we pay 21%. Fabric costs us €14.95 per meter including VAT.

We have a Sales tax added when purchasing fabric. The percentage varies with the state you live in. In Pennsylvania it is 6%, Texas is 8%, New Jersey is 7%, etc.

And those in Montana don't have any sales tax on fabric!
We just pay high property taxes.

Sales tax, it can be 5% up to 9% depending on where you live... some states still do not have it though. That is the only tax we have to pay here in the states :D:D:D

between state and local, sales tax around here ranges between 7% and 10%.

i don't feel guilty about complaining.

i just have a great deal more sympathy for our international quilting friends than i do for myself.
