Virtual Quilting Weekend--2/13-2/16/15

Everyone's work looks so good!
I was only able to get one block completed for my sampler but I'm really happy with it in the end. Lots of reverse sewing on this one, but with the snow in Boston it is not worthwhile to go outside.

There are so many beautiful projects on here. Since I was trying to spend more time actually working and less time on the computer, I didn't comment individually. However, I did read all the posts and have enjoyed quilting with all of you this weekend. I completely finished four of the quilts and just have the binding left on the fifth. And I even sandwiched a sixth quilt which wasn't on my list! Looking forward to all the company again next month

I didn't get nearly enough time this weekend in my sewing room. However, something is better than nothing. I have one spider web block done! whoo hoo! and these embroidery tissue paper rolls. I do enjoy the end results with these and they will go to a bazaar for a charity.
I really enjoy all the post and pictures everyone has shared. This quilting board I think is the best.

Sure am enjoying all these projects. They just make me SMILE to see all the colors and patterns.
I finished my Minecraft quilt last night (finally!). I then started the X quilt blocks for the Color & Design Challenge for February (hosted by playswithcolor). So far 5 out of 9 are pieced, and I'm having a blast.
I plan to snap and show progress pictures tomorrow in the natural light. Of course that means you'll see some natural snow in the background (and the foreground and the sideground...). Ha.

Back again for a moment to see what everyone is doing. I decided to continue the weekend into as much of this week as possible since I am on a roll! Have quite a few pieces stitched (satin stitch) which is good, but found a bunch of pieces in a pile and did them too. So a spider, four work horses and two gingerbread men are also now stitched. Onward while the juices are flowing!
applique.... great appliqué designs.... did you make the skateboarder designs yourself or are they clip art or a specific pattern? sorry so many questions but they just look so perfect!
/QUOTE]
They are from a Dover publication of sports. I have all of them stitched but need to make a few more and of course it's time for some baseball figures. Come on spring!

I am going to be working on three wall hangings (using the 2" fusible grid) using nightgowns and pillow cases from a woman who has passed. I will be glad to finish these because the colors I was presented are mostly bland colors and the lady just wants a scrappy look. Here is what I have come up with so far.

On the second one I have rearranged the 9 patch blocks so there is a flow in the color scheme. I don't have a picture of the new arrangement yet.
The 3rd one is simply a scrappy of miscellaneous blocks with a heart shaped applique of one of the gowns in the center and I don't have a picture of it.
I don't think I will ever do one of these again for someone else unless it is a gift.

The long scrappy one will have a fusible heart from one of the gowns in the center of it
Also I took the neckline of one of the gowns and put it on an acid free comic board and framed it

Here is the 2nd one I have chosen to do.
