Default Virtual Quilting Weekend--2/7/21

Welcome to a special VQW. Several quilters asked me for a VQW on Super Bowl Sunday so here you go! I thought I would start it tonight in case anyone gets up super early to start quilting. My plans are to finish the sashiko class project from today's workshop. And maybe start quilting a charity quilt.

Can't wait to see what everyone else is working on. Remember, regular VQW will be next weekend--February 12-15.

Raggiemom, there is already another VQW going for this week-end. But so you are not alone, I am cutting scraps trying to empty a large bin so I can stop tripping over it. Making bricks 3.5 x 6.5 bricks and 2.5 squares for the Quilt Board's Birthday Swap for this year.

Good morning Raggiemom and all you other VQW'ers, it's been a while since I could jump in to say a few words. But today I'm working on mask for my oldest daughter, she is classified as an 'essential worker', she helps keep things moving. Our online orders. I am also working on an apron for a hometown friend that loves to cook. I really would like to make them one of those chef hats. I think that is what I will do today. I really don't do Football, but you all enjoy see you at the end of the day.
Happy sewing everyone--cherryb

Thank you Raggiemom...yes a VQW was requested for those who don’t watch the game. I will find something to work on this afternoon in my sewing room (after I go snow shoeing with a small group of friends). Since I do like Tom Brady and look forward to the game,I have a binding project to work on during the game,

Thanks for hosting, Raggiemom! I’ll be working on the February quilt for the Debbie Brown QAL. I still need to finish cutting out my 2.5” squares and then it’s on to making the 16 patch blocks. I’m also trying to use up some crumbs, so may do a little bit of crumb piecing if I get tired of cutting and sewing 2.5” squares.

Can’t wait to see what everyone else is working on!

Still making HSTs. I should be a pro by now...LOL. Thought I had enough rows for this quilt but did the math wrong and need at least two more. So back to the jelly rolls and background fab and begin again. I really thought I'd be quilting a couple lap quilts but maybe not until next weekend. Ugh!

I will be binding a quilt and doing some hand quilting. I am not a football fan so I will be enjoying a quiet day doing hand work after I shovel my driveway one more time. I got my first Covid shot yesterday and have no issues except a sore arm just like after a flu shot. I wanted to share that for anyone who hasn't had the first shot yet.

I will be finishing a Ring of Wreaths quilt. Almost done quilting and ready to put the binding on. Those of you that enjoy football, enjoy the big game

Thanks for hosting Heather! I am continuing on with my Grassy Creek since I have not worked on it much at all this past week. I have one more row to go, but, I want to make this a King Size quilt for my bed, so I am mulling over adding additional blocks or spending the time to figure out a border. I can’t wait to see what everyone is working on!

I will be watching from the sidelines today. Our son is remodeling his kitchen and we are the "crew". Drywall mud is my medium for today.
